Welcome to my Blog!

May 24th, 2010
Welcome to my blog!  I am an International and National wedding photojournalist and portrait photographer based in Orlando, Fl.   I have been blessed to have photographed weddings in Africa, Europe and all over the U.S.  I have the best career in the world!  I LOVE what I do :) Please browse my blog to see my latest work, inspirations, my life, and my passions. I hope you enjoy the site and please stop by my website at www.karlafountain.com I am not too fond of having my photograph taken (go figure!)  I prefer to be behind the lens but a good friend my second photographer, Lisa shot this photo of me and to my amazement (not based on her shooting skills of course :) but to my dislike of photographs of me - I like it a lot!

Sherri & Tug’s Wedding on a private island off of Captiva Island!!!

May 24th, 2010 | Weddings

A WOW wedding for sure!!!  I could write a book on this incredible wedding.  I shot a wedding on this private island off of Captiva Island a few years ago.  It is only reachable by boat!  And, no cars on the island only golf carts.  Talk about escaping the hustle and bustle of the landlocked!

I am horrible at writing so bear with me :)  Sherri the gorgeous bride was marrying her equally handsome groom Russell - aka Tug!  It was hilarious during the prep time before the ceremony I kept hearing the name “Tug” and knew he had to be someone important as they mentioned the name all the time!  Finally, I was with a bridesmaid said “Tug” in front of Russell did I get it :)  He is so fun and relaxed of a person and said we could call him whatever - Tug, Russel, Russ….  So, cute.  But, I never got to find out where the name “Tug” came from!  I will have to find out :)

They had a gorgeous small beach wedding.  And the most hilarious (others may think differently on this) when the officiant asked for the rings everyone looked at each other.  The sister and maid of honor said they were in the golf cart!  So, her and the best man (the groom’s brother) RAN to the golf cart!  Everyone was laughing!!  I turned on my rapid shooting to get expressions and the moments of this treasure.  But, I can see how a bride might not be too happy about this happening.  But, from a photographer’s point of view is was great :)

The reception was beautiful - a beautiful tent, a great band, lots of emotions from the dances.  It was wonderful to see it all.  My boat was set to leave at 10:30 which was before the reception was over.  I truly wished I could have stayed longer :)  Even tried to call the boat charter company (at the request of the bride of course but I did want to stay to capture more of the fun) but never heard back.  So, on the boat we went to the marina.  The ride on the boat at night was just so cool.

Adored this wedding :)

Those are some very good pics! Do this day I wish I would have had a professional photographer at our wedding…pics like these last a lifetime. Instead I was to worried about what type of table number holders I wanted. Missed out on some very good moments. To anyone reading that might be planning a wedding. Do not cut expenses on your photographer!

Sarah & Ryan’s Wedding!!!

May 17th, 2010 | Weddings

Loved this wedding!!  Sarah is such a doll!  I have such a rare encounter with such a calm, beautiful bride :)  Ryan was just as calm too!  But, guess was not calm!  ME!  The who’s who of television and newspaper writings, photographers, tv hosts were all there.  Talk about pressure!  But, I focused on them (which was not hard to do) and had the best time with them.  All the families and wedding party were so incredible!  I had the pleasure to work with Kristen from An Affair to Remember wedding coordinators - they ROCK!  The venue was the most gorgeous I.W. House at the Courtyard of Lake Lucerne here in Orlando.

Hope you enjoy the images!  And as always please feel free to contact me: karlafountain@gmail.com and see more of my work at www.karlafountain.com

Heather & James Engagement!!

May 3rd, 2010 | Engagement and bridal sessions

WOW!!!!  HOT couple!  This day was such a break from the norm and it was awesome!  Confusion on what date the engagement session, started to rain just as we were getting started with the session.  BUT, everything came out perfect as we went to unconventional places to photograph.  Incredible, incredible, incredible.  They are SO super sweet!!  We had a blast - running in and out of rain, parking garages, etc..  It was an incredible engagement session with an incredible couple :)  Not to mention that they are HOT!!! :)

Hope you enjoy the images!  And as always please feel free to contact me: karlafountain@gmail.com and see more of my work at:  www.karlafountain.com

Daniele & Patrick’s Wedding!!

April 26th, 2010 | Weddings

This wedding is a little late in posting….  EEK!   Another fantastic couple - I am always so blessed to have wonderful couples!!  YAY!!  The wedding was at the Red Tail Country Club  Gorgeous wedding - in every way!  Had the distinct pleasure working with Phil of Dj Soundwave.  Phil was awesome as always.

The wedding day could not have been more beautiful.  I absolutely love late Fall (for Florida anyway) weddings.  Again, I had a couple that let me do my thing with their wedding portraits and whole wedding party.  The complete trust I get in doing the wedding photography is inspiring and does not go unnoticed.  Check out this this amazing couple:
