About Karla Fountain Photography….
Wow, where to begin. I have been photographing since I was a teenager. First, in high school and then on to college at Ringling School of Art and Design where I got my BFA in Photography and Digital Imaging.
It was during my last year at college that I took a trip that would alter my life and my life’s work. I traveled far all alone to East Africa. For weeks I photographed the people, the tribes, the landscapes, and of course the wildlife. When I got back and began combing through all the thousands of images, I found a common thread. In every village I had encountered I had captured the people in such a way that I felt like I had told their story. In single photographs I had learned so much about them. Each face showed so much emotion and history that it was thrilling to me. That was it for me! I had discovered what I was meant to do.
So, what does photographing tribes in Africa have to do with wedding photography you ask? Everything!! Life is a series of passages, experiences, emotions, and of course history. To have these stories unfold in my images is my life’s work. Each wedding day embodies all of these essential elements: emotions, passion, history of two families joining as one and most importantly two people deeply devoted to each other. I tell your story of your love with my images. That is what I do best.
Every wedding is a blank canvas for me. My goal is to document your day so perfectly and with so much fun that you will cry tears of joy when you remember each moment while looking at the photographs. And even crying over images of things happening that you did not know happened!! I capture every nuance of the day from all the important details to all the people that make your lives so special. All these things are photographed with sensitivity and uniqueness that only my team and me can capture.
