Sherri & Tug’s Wedding on a private island off of Captiva Island!!!
A WOW wedding for sure!!! I could write a book on this incredible wedding. I shot a wedding on this private island off of Captiva Island a few years ago. It is only reachable by boat! And, no cars on the island only golf carts. Talk about escaping the hustle and bustle of the landlocked!
I am horrible at writing so bear with me :) Sherri the gorgeous bride was marrying her equally handsome groom Russell - aka Tug! It was hilarious during the prep time before the ceremony I kept hearing the name “Tug” and knew he had to be someone important as they mentioned the name all the time! Finally, I was with a bridesmaid said “Tug” in front of Russell did I get it :) He is so fun and relaxed of a person and said we could call him whatever - Tug, Russel, Russ…. So, cute. But, I never got to find out where the name “Tug” came from! I will have to find out
They had a gorgeous small beach wedding. And the most hilarious (others may think differently on this) when the officiant asked for the rings everyone looked at each other. The sister and maid of honor said they were in the golf cart! So, her and the best man (the groom’s brother) RAN to the golf cart! Everyone was laughing!! I turned on my rapid shooting to get expressions and the moments of this treasure. But, I can see how a bride might not be too happy about this happening. But, from a photographer’s point of view is was great
The reception was beautiful - a beautiful tent, a great band, lots of emotions from the dances. It was wonderful to see it all. My boat was set to leave at 10:30 which was before the reception was over. I truly wished I could have stayed longer :) Even tried to call the boat charter company (at the request of the bride of course but I did want to stay to capture more of the fun) but never heard back. So, on the boat we went to the marina. The ride on the boat at night was just so cool.
Adored this wedding

July 6th, 2010 at 7:41 pmThose are some very good pics! Do this day I wish I would have had a professional photographer at our wedding…pics like these last a lifetime. Instead I was to worried about what type of table number holders I wanted. Missed out on some very good moments. To anyone reading that might be planning a wedding. Do not cut expenses on your photographer!
