Jessica & Justin’s Wedding - Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

What a weekend I had! Two Justin grooms in one weekend - what are the chances of that? I was so lucky let me tell you.

Except this wedding has one distinction for me particularly! Jessica (the gorgeous bride) is a professional photographer! So, yes my nerves were on edge a bit :) She is an incredible photographer in Tampa, Fl and she had chosen me to be her wedding photographer. Quite an honor amongst photographers let me tell you. So, Erin and I arrive in Tampa, the wedding was at the Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club,  early as I am always worried about being late and especially being held up on I-4! Anyone that lives in the central Florida area knows how awful that can be and how long it can set you back in travel time. So, me being the worry wort we leave early and arrive early. YAY! So, we get some lunch beforehand and go over the schedule etc… My nerves are getting worse but Erin (my most wonderful 2nd shooter) is saying “why in the world are you worried???” But, any photographer who is shooting for ANOTHER photographer will always be worried.

Anyway, I digress… We arrive and she is having a blast with all her awesome bridesmaids. And she made sure they were all dressed before I got there so we could get some getting ready shots and go right into some portraits with her and the bridesmaids. Well, it turned out to be TOO much fun while she was getting ready!!! See the images below! Jessica is so expressive! Her face just lights up and expresses all the emotions she is feeling so me being a photographer had a ball!

So, the ceremony starts and OMG - seriously not a dry eye in the whole place and I do not think I have EVER shot in a wedding with this many cameras. I think everyone on their guest list is a photographer :) I am not kidding. I thought a few times during the ceremony that I know I was in somebody’s shot - but I was there doing my what she hired ME for :) So, to make things even more emotional is that they wrote their own vows. OMG this is just asking for more tears and emotion - I LOVE IT!! Justin (the groom) had everyone in tears as he too is just as expressive in his emotions. To top things all off both fathers spoke during the ceremony and I looked around at the guests at one point and all I saw were tears in the women’s eyes. WOW.

The reception was incredible :) They did the coolest thing! They had an old fashioned photo-booth to take photos of their guests. I got many and I mean MANY compromising images of couples in the booth! hehhehehe :)  So, please take a look at these images - I just hope they convey the love and passion they share for one another. And I want to thank them personally for having the faith in me to photograph one of the most important days in their lives. I am quite honored :)

Lindsay & Justin’s Intimate Wedding - Citrus Club

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Here is one of the classiest couples I have photographed to date. In my opinion they did everything just right!

They decided to see one another before the ceremony as they agreed that getting great daylight photos was a priority for them! I wish more of my couples would agree to this! :)

They had an exquisite intimate wedding at the Citrus Club in Downtown Orlando.

Everything was romantic and perfect. I could not have had two better people to photograph and am honored they chose me as their photographer :)

This past weekends adventure!

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

I had the best time last weekend!  I went to the annual DWF (Digital Wedding Photographers) Convention in Tampa this past weekend.  It was absolutely incredible!  I met so many incredible photographers, learned from some of the top photographers from all over the world!  I left there feeling so inspired and fired up and determined to make this year and the all the years to come better and better.  I have so many new ideas and will be sharing them all with you as they take fruition.I also had the distinct pleasure of being a bridesmaid in the convention!   There was an educational “wedding” - basically anything that can go wrong during a wedding and how to best handle those situations that we could encounter during weddings.  I volunteered to be a bridesmaid!  OMG!  What was I thinking??  There I was (I am really a shy person at heart and loathe my photograph to be taken) and there I am in front of 600+ photographers from all over the world!  EEK!!!  But, I surprised myself and had an incredible time and got into character.  It was a blast and the official photographers made it a great educational experience for all. Here is me with a groomsmen taken by the most awesome photographer who I have enormous respect for Susan Stripling.26_wfh.jpg  As you can see I am in character here.  I do not ever “pose” like that!  I cannot believe it! hehhehehehe! Here is the crowd of photographers I was standing in front of:  Again, photograph taken by Susan Stripling 07_wfh.jpg
